Our verdict

Where it wins

  • Under $40, one of the cheaper true-wireless options built specifically for sleeping rather than repurposed everyday earbuds
  • At under 2 grams each and a low profile, they are easy to sleep on your side in
  • Sleep mode turns off lights and touch controls so the earbuds won't light up or misfire against a pillow
  • USB-C case is a small but welcome convenience most budget earbuds still skip

Where it loses

  • No built-in masking sounds or ANC, so you need to stream your own audio or white noise to get any sound-blocking benefit
  • 4.5-hour per-charge battery will not cover a full night without a case top-up, unlike sleep-specific earbuds built for 10+ hours
  • As a newer listing it has little review history yet, so real-world durability is still largely unproven

SleepTones is a budget play on the same idea as pricier sleep earbuds: tiny, light, side-sleeper-friendly silicone earbuds with a case. The tradeoff for the low price is battery life that will not carry a full night on one charge and no built-in sound library, so you are supplying your own audio and possibly a mid-night recharge. Reasonable for someone who wants to fall asleep to a podcast or playlist and does not need all-night masking sound.

Common questions

Will SleepTones last all night?

Not on one charge. MEE audio rates them at up to 4.5 hours of playback per charge, so a full 7-8 hour night will likely need a case recharge partway through, or using them just to fall asleep rather than all night.

Do they play their own sleep sounds?

No. Unlike earbuds with built-in soundscapes, SleepTones just stream whatever audio you play from your phone over Bluetooth; there is no onboard white noise library.

Are they comfortable for side sleeping?

They are built for it: under 2 grams per earbud with a low-profile silicone design, similar in intent to other side-sleeper-focused sleep earbuds.
