Our verdict
Where it wins
- Strong value: app control and auto mode at a lower price than name-brand rivals
- Precise auto humidity tracking keeps the room in range automatically
- Quiet 28 dB low setting suits bedroom use
- Tiltable nozzle and oil tray add flexibility other budget units skip
Where it loses
- Build quality feels less premium than pricier competitors
- Cleaning requires disassembling several pieces where mineral scale can build up
- Optional demineralization cartridges are an extra ongoing cost
The HM524S packs most of what you'd want in a smart bedroom humidifier, a big tank, accurate auto mode, and app control, into a noticeably cheaper package than the big-name brands. It asks for a bit more cleaning effort in return.
